Ghopepani Poon Hill trekking

Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking is one of the easiest and shortest trekking in Annapurna region, Nepal. Ghorepani is a one village name. Poon Hill is the Mountain Viewpoint which is the best view point above 3210m. Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking brings you to visit Ghandruk village.

The trek starts from Nayapul which is a one and half hour drive from Pokhara. The first day of trekking we bring you to Tikhedhunga 1575m, it is an easy and short day trekking. The second day trekking all the way to Ghorepani 2850m. The first part of the trekking is steeply climbing up to Ulleri. Ulleri continues to trek through Banthati. Banthati means hut or house inside the jungle. Next day, trekking brings you early in the morning to Poon Hill. Our major goal for Poon Hill trekking is to visit the sunrise view from Poon Hill. Another day we explored the Ghandruk village. Ghandruk is the Gurung village. The Gurung culture, typical Gugung food, their dress, Gurung Museum are important to visit Ghandruk. The last day of our trekking from Ghandruk village to Nayapul is all the way down.

Ghandruk Ghorepani trek offer the spectacular mountain scenery along with charming villages inhabited particularly by the Gurungs, Poon & Magars, dense rhododendron forest full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys, all set below the Annapurna's with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) dominating the skyline. One of the important highlights of this trip is to make a claim on Pun Hill, possibly the Most Spectacular Mountain scrapes on Earth. When the sun rises, it touches the snow-capped summits the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) along with a maze of other peaks, there gradually appear, just like magic that your eye could not believe.

It is also noticeable that the seasonable road heading to Tikhedhunga and also up down to Ghandruk village. If you do not have many days’ time you can make short trekking as well.
