Ratna Chuli 7035m lies between the border of Nepal and Tibet in the north of the Annapurna and Manaslu, majestically situated above the Tibetan village of Fu in the western region of Nepal. Ratna Chuli is the highest peak in the Peri Himal. Ratna Chulu Expedition officially opened for mountaineering expeditions ever since the first opening of the Nar Phu region of western Nepal in 2000, there have been very little mountaineering expedition teams to this mountain.
it is one of the highest peaks in the region and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. Despite its present prominence and beauty, Ratna Chuli has a long history of ascents and exploration. In fact, it was first climbed by an expedition led by Swiss mountaineer Fritz Luchsinger in 1950. In 1996 a Japanese-Nepalese expedition team of Santa Bahadur Ale, Durga Bahadur Tamang, Tul Bahadur Tamang, Katsuhiko Sawada and Osamu Tanabe had successfully climbed Ratna Chuli over the west. Since then, many other climbers and adventurers have undertaken expeditions to ratna chuli to experience its majestic beauty for themselves. Today, this incredible peak continues to draw avid climbers from all over the world who are looking for a challenging but rewarding adventure in the great outdoors.
Asian Hiking Team Ratna Chuli itinerary starts from Kathmandu drive to Besisahar then continues on to Koto. On the next day, trekking starts towards the route Dharmasala/Meta, then to Nar Phu Valley, where we spend one day extra for proper acclimatization and local exploration.
