Annapurna Base Camp trekking is named by Annapurna Himalayas specially Annapurna I and Annapurna South base camp which is north-center Nepal since Herozog’s camp for the original conquest of the peak lies on its north side is as at 4130m /13550FT. Trek to Annapurna I or south base camp is not only Nepal’s' but one of worlds' most popular moderate trekking in Nepal. The dramatic mountain scenery is the reason for doing Sanctuary treks. Standing in the middle of the sanctuary, surrounding by towering snowy peaks, ranging from 600m to 8000m 2600ft to 26000ft, is a truly awe-inspiring experience. Altitude sickness and snowfall are factors to consider on the south Annapurna base camp trekking.

Annapurna Base Camp route pass through Pun Hill, possibly the most spectacular mountain scrapes on Earth. When sun rises, it touches the snow-capped summits the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) along with a maze of others peaks, there gradually appear, just like magic that your eye could not believe. Chhomrung is a little gurung village the gate way to base camp. The route above Chhomrung is subjected to occasional avalanches, and five trekkers perished in an avalanche in 2001 above the hut of Deurali. During the October, November and into December the sanctuary is generally snow free so there is little or no risk of avalanches for trekking. The views once you reach Base camp are compensation enough.

We begin trekking from Nayapul, one and half hour drive from Pokhara; half an hours' walk brings us to Birethanti, situated at the confluence of Modi and Bhurung rivers. Proceed towards Ghorepani at 2850 m. trek to the Pun hill at 3210m and enjoy the panorama of both the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himal. Head toward east to reach the hamlet of Tadapani and on towards Chhumrung. From Chhumrong, we commence our journey into the Annapurna Sanctuary and onwards to Annapurna Base Camp. We end our trekking to Nayapool. It is possible optional route to ending or starting from Phedi half an hour drive Pokhara.
