Annapurna region trekking is named by Annapurna Himalayas which is north-west Nepal that includes above 8,091 meters (26,545 ft) Annapurna-I.  Annapurna is a Sanskrit name which literally means "full of food" (feminine form), but is normally translated as Goddess of the Harvests. In Hinduism, Annapurna is "the universal and timeless kitchen-goddess”, the mother who feeds. Without her there is starvation, a universal fear; this makes Annapurna a universal goddess. Annapurna area is more than 200 KM far from Kathmandu; it is feasible driving or fly to Pokhara. The unique biodiversity, fantastic mountain scenic and rich culture makes it one of the famous trekking areas of Nepal. 

Annapurna area is coverage 7629 Sq. KM spectacular ranging from 900 meters to 8091 meters and is home to over 100,000 residents of different cultural and linguistic groups. ACAP is rich in biodiversity and is a treasure house for 1,226 species of flowering plants, 102 mammals, 474 birds, 39 reptiles and 22 amphibians. The biological diversity of the Annapurna region is equally rivaled by cultural diversity. Gurung and Magar are the dominant groups in the south, whereas Thakali, Manange and Loba are dominant in the north. Each of these groups speaks their own dialect, and has unique cultures and traditions. Besides, there are also Brahmin, Chhetri and other occupational castes although in comparatively smaller numbers. Hindu, Buddhist and pre-Buddhist religions along with a mixture of all these are prevalent across the region. The local people reside in the 5 districts of the 57 Village Development Committees (VDCs) of the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA).

The unique biodiversity, the scenic grandeur in combination with the multi-culture and multi-ethnic diversity make Annapurna is the world’s most popular trekking destinations. Here is server trekking routes, some major trekking routes are Ghorepani Ghandruk trekking, Annapurna Base Camp trekking or call sanctuary,  Annapurna circuit trekking or Thorung la pass, , Jomsom Muktinath trekking, upper Mustang trekking, Nar-phu trekking, Royal treks, Siklish trek, Sarangkot trek. Almost all the major trekking in Annapurna area is possible by tea house or lodge except high pass Tilicho and newly opened trekking Mardi Himal. All Tea house or trekking trail side restaurant have save international meals including tropical Nepalese foods. The best time for trekking in Annapurna reason is autumn and spring season but some short trekking recommend for whole year like Ghandruk Ghorepani, Sikles, Royak trek, Dhampus trek and Sarangkot trekking.
